CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

With the constantly changing events surrounding the coronavirus, we want to keep you updated on how Horizon is responding and any important information that you might need.
As information changes, this page and our church Facebook page will provide the most up to date information. We are committed to doing everything we can to providing a safe and healthy worship environment.
Is Horizon holding worship services this weekend?
YES. Governor Abbott said that churches can once again meet in person beginning on May 3rd with social distancing protocols in place. We are going to take an extra week to prepare. Our plan is to begin meeting together again on Sunday, May 10th. Additionally, we are going to be live streaming the service on Facebook for those that want to be a a part of the service but don’t feel comfortable meeting in person or are at high risk. Until further notice, all classes, growth groups and activities continue to be cancelled outside of the Sunday morning meeting together.
Will anything change when we resume meeting together on May 10th?
YES. Our meetings together will look and feel different because of social distancing needs. Occupancy will be reduced for a limited time. Additionally, nursery and children’s ministries will not be available. Families will be required to sit together and will be distanced from other people. “Fellowshipping” will be encouraged but must take place outside of the building. Once inside the building, we ask that you remain in your seat and we will eliminate the things that need to be touched (bulletins, Connection Cards etc). After the service, families will be dismissed individually. Lastly…while face masks are not required…they are welcomed and appreciated.
Is the church facility open and accessible during this time?
NO. The church facility can only be accessed by special request outside of the normal worship gathering at 10:30am on Sunday morning. Please contact Pastor Felty if you need something at the church,
What if I come into contact with someone who tests positive for coronavirus?
Health officials are encouraging everyone who has come into contact with someone who tests positive for coronavirus to self-quarantine for 14 days. We are asking our church family to do the same.
How should I respond to the coronavirus?
The instinct is to panic because things seem to be spinning out of control. Nothing could be farther from the truth. God is still in control and for the Christian it is an opportunity to display our trust in a sovereign God and love our neighbor.
