Coaching

To be a disciple of Jesus simply means to be like Jesus.  The process of becoming a disciple is called discipleship.  At Horizon, we believe this process happens as we live life around the cross.   As we engage in gospel-centered worship, gospel-centered community, gospel-centered service and gospel-centered mission, we are on the road to becoming “discipled”.

We also understand that the Christian life is full of ups and downs and sometimes we need someone to walk with us for a season.  At Horizon, we call these people “coaches.”  They are not mentors or counselors; they are simply people who are committed to walk with you as you grow for a season.  We provide three levels of Christian coaching:  New Life Coaching, Christian Life Coaching and Leadership Coaching.

New Life Coaching

New Life coaching is nothing more than helping you build the right foundation for your Christian life.  We want to assist you in beginning your journey of following Jesus and meeting new people in the church.  New Life coaching is a 16 week commitment to be accountable to your coach and meet with them once a week.

Christian Life Coaching

Christian Life coaching is designed to help you mature in areas in which you are struggling in your Christian life.  Christian Life coaching is designed to do several things.  First, a Christian Life Coach will help you understand and align your values.  Second, your coach will assist you is discovering where your life is out of balance and they will help you set goals for change.  Third, through the whole process, your coach will walk with you and encourage you to be successful and mature in your faith.

Leadership Coaching

We believe the one of the end goals of a person who has been discipled is to disciple others.  We believe that our gifts were not given to us by God so that they could terminate with us but so that we could share them with others.  Leadership coaching is a process whereby we teach the process of leading others to maturity.  Leadership coaching is a two part process.  First, there is a four week class that teaches the foundations of Christian leadership. Second, a leadership coach will walk with you for several weeks as you begin to use your spiritual gifts for others.
